Great American Taxi will release their new album, _Dr. Feel Good’s Traveling Medicine Show,” on February 3, the band has announced. The album was produced with Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone and features Widespread Panic drummer Duane Trucks as a guest.

Since founding member Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon parted ways with the band, the group has come to consist of keyboardist Chad Staehly, guitarist Jim Lewin, bassist Brian Adams and Arthur guitarist/banjoist Lee Land. GAT has also set a run of tour dates for next February in support of the album. See that schedule below.

Singer-songwriter and Trucks’ Hardworking Americans bandmate Todd Snider had some words to say about Dr. Feel Good’s Traveling Medicine Show, saying, “I’ve heard the new Taxi record once and I already know I’m going to memorize it. There is a new scene happening right now that mixes jam and Americana. This band started it with songs where you’re diggin’ the words so much you’re hoping maybe they won’t interrupt them with a hippie jam, until they do…and then you’re like…see? This is why I love these guys…it’s medicinal Americana…I just coined that…you can have it.”
