Professor Louie & The Crowmatix will once again celebrate the music of The Band bassist and singer Rick Danko on his birthday. Danko would have turned 73 on December 29 and, this year, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix will perform his music that evening in The Band’s old hometown of Woodstock, NY at the Bearsville Theater. The Woodstock Horns, led by Dan Shaut, will augment the group throughout the night.

After a show at Bridgeport, CT’s The Acoustic on January 6, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix will turn their attention to Danko’s music for another celebration at Beacon, NY’s The Town Crier on January 7. Looking ahead, the ensemble will also perform at Tannersville NY’s Orpheum Theater on January 14 as part of the Catskill Mountain Foundation’s Common Ground Returns To The Mountain and aboard The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, which sets sail on January 22.

The Crowmatix is led by keyboardist Aaron “Professor Louie” Hurwitz, a longtime Band and Band family collaborator. Other members include: vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Marie Spinosa, drummer Gary Burke, bassist Frank Campbell and guitarist Josh Colow.
