Joe Russo’s Almost Dead played a surprise acoustic show at Three’s Brewing in Brooklyn just one night after the Benevento-Russo Duo reunited on the same stage.

The band played an all-acoustic set (billed as “Data Models,” an anagram for “Almost Dead”) that kicked off with requests from various band members, with Benevento starting the proceedings with “I Know You Rider.” Tom Hamilton requested “Loser” while Metzger went with “Casey Jones” and Dave Dreiwitz nominated “Viola Lee Blues.” Russo was last with his request of “Estimated Prophet” before the band rolled through the rest of the set.

Among the highlights, creative jams in “Let It Grow” that included a brief foray into “Terrapin Station.” The “Ramble On Rose” featured elements of “Uncle John’s Band” before the band would ultimately weave in and out of the tune via “The Wheel.”

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will play tonight at the Brooklyn Bowl.
