Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s New Year’s run at Terrapin Crossroads saw them honor a number of artists including a December 30 show that featured entire sets of Bob Dylan and Grateful Dead live tunes.

Starting with the first show, the band indeed peppered their evening with an entire selection of Dylan songs, mixing in classics from the recent Nobel Prize winner like “Positively 4th Street,” “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue,” among others.

For set two, it was time for CRB to nod to their Dead roots with a mix of Dead originals (“Berta,” “Sugaree” and others) as well as classic covers in the Dead canon like Johnny Cash’s “Big River” and Johnny Russell’s “Catfish John.” The night concluded with Cannon’s Jug Stompers’ “Big Railroad Blues.”

On New Year’s Eve it was once again a slew of covers for CRB, with both sets littered with various covers from tributes to the late Allen Toussaint (“Get Out of My Life, Woman”) and Leon Russell (Stranger in a Strange Land”) to classics from the Rolling Stones (“Let It Bleed”), Otis Redding (“Hard to Handle”) and The Doors (“Break On Through (To The Other Side)”).

The ensemble left no stone unturned as they rolled into 2017, later mixing in tunes like Velvet Underground’s “Rock and Roll” and an appropriate closing number, JJ Cale’s “After Midnight.”

Next up fro CRB is a slot at Los Muertos Con Queso in Mexico.
