Arcade Fire’s fifth album could be coming out sooner than most think, as drummer Jeremy Gara spoke to Red Bull Poland about the forthcoming project, revealing additional details about its recording process and subsequent tour.

As ArcadeFireTube uncovered, Gara said that all songs have been recorded and the “album should come out this year.” He went on to add, “At this stage we are still mixing and trying to decide which songs will end up on the record, because we’ve recorded more than we need. But we’re almost finished.”

As for touring, Gara noted that while he doesn’t know where or when the tour will begin, from his perspective, “Arcade Fire starts in April and finish around April 2019.”

The band currently has a few festival dates booked beginning in early June at Primavera Sound and continuing through July including stops at Isle of Wight, Best Kept Secret, Roskilde, Rock Werchter and more.
