Guster kicked off their four-night 25th anniversary run at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club last night, marking the first time the Tufts-bred group have played the intimate venue since an afternoon radio show in 2003

The show, which also kicked off Paradise’s 40th anniversary celebration, was opened up by former Barenaked Ladies frontman and early Guster supporter Steven Page, who also sat in during the headliner’s encore for a cover of The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry.” Watch a video of the collaboration above.

Guster also dusted off some early songs including “Parachute” and “X-Ray Eyes” during the night, along with announcing an afternoon show for earlier today, which was broadcast live, along with an interview, on Boston radio from the Boston Public Library.
