Last night at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Drive-By Truckers continued their current tour with a performance that featured a special sit in from former band member Jason Isbell.

Isbell, who was with the Truckers for six years before parting ways with the band in 2007 and embarking on a successful solo career, came on last night for a run of “Heathens,” a song from the Isbell-era Truckers’ Decoration Day album. Isbell, who live in Nashville, has joined former bandmates Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley onstage in recent years.

Watch a video of the performance above. Drive-By Truckers return to the stage tonight at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO. Isbell is off the road now but will play at The Avett Brothers upcoming “At the Beach” destination concert event in Riviera Maya, Mexico, on February 9–13 before embarking on his own tour starting in mid-March.
