Umphrey’s McGee once again played a man down last night in Albany, NY as Jake Cinninger sat out with the flu. To help fill the void, the band enlisted saxophonist Joshua Redman to sit in on a bunch of tunes throughout the night.

Redman started his stint with the group in the first set on the delicate new tune “Gone for Good,” played after an acoustic rendition of rarity “The Weight Around.” Redman played out the rest of the set with the group, closing it out with “Higgins” and “Ocean Billy.”

Redman and UM wasted no time collaborating in the second set, starting together with “1348” and “intentions Clear” before Redman made his exit after “Walletsworth.” Umphrey’s closed the set with heavy-hitters “40’s Theme” and “In the Kitchen” before Brendan Bayliss led the group through a final cover of “Don’t You Forget About Me.”

Next up for UM is a show tonight in Rochester, NY.
