Fleet Foxes will perform at Newport, RI’s famed Newport Folk Festival this summer. This is the first North American performance the folky indie-act—who have been on hiatus for the past few years—has confirmed since 2011. The legendary music festival will return to Fort Adams State Park from July 28-30, 2017.

Newport Folk Festival will continue to roll out its line-up one artist a week throughout the coming months. Fleet Foxes have already confirmed a few European summer dates, including appearances at Spain’s Vida Festival, Bilbao, Spain’s Bilbao BBK Live 2017 and Ireland’s Iveagh Gardens. The group is reportedly working on their first album since 2011’s Helplessness Blues.

Fleet Foxes have remained quiet during the past four years while frontman Robin Pecknold pursued a degree at Columbia University. Drummer Josh Tillman officially left the group in 2012 and has since reemerged at Father John Mistry.
