Wanee Festival will pay homage to late Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks the day before its annual celebration in Florida this April with a special day of music dedicated to Trucks, who passed away late last month.

North Mississippi Allstars brothers Cody and Luther Dickinson will kick off the festivities with Trucks former group The Freight Train Band, and the day of tributes, which will take place on April 19, will also feature music from New Orleans Suspects, Crazy Fingers, Ben Sparaco Band, Matt Reynold and Brothers & Sisters.

Trucks proudly claimed ownership over Wanee Festival, calling it his “baby” and saying that it was “ the best festival going these days.”

Wanee runs April 20-22 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, with sets from Bob Weir, Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov’t Mule, Dark Star Orchestra, Dr. John and many more. Additional information can be found here.
