Marco Benevento and Joe Russo reunited as the Duo for their first proper headlining show since 2010 after formally reuniting on Jam Cruise and playing a warmup show in Brooklyn prior to that. The band hit the stage at Brooklyn Bowl as a part of the Freaks Ball, an event they first played in 2003 and one that Almost Dead has headlined in recent years.

The Almost Dead bandmates (who hit the stage following a set from their other bandmate—Scott Metzger’s WOLF!) collaborated on tunes like “Powder,” played for the first time since 2008 (and featuring Russo on guitar) as well as “Becky,” which included a “25 or 6 to 4” jam from Benevento.

The following “Scratchitti” also saw Benevento touch on some classic rock, foraying into Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” ever so briefly. The show wrapped up with a set-closing “My Pet Goat” and then one of the Duo’s best known tunes, “Play, Pause, Stop.”
