The Terrapin Family Band will celebrate the Jewish holiday for Purim at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl this Sunday. Part of the Rock and Roll Playhouse children’s concert series, the family friendly show will run from 11:15am-1pm. Since Purim is a festival holiday that falls somewhere between Halloween and Mardi Gras, families are encouraged to wear costumes to the event.

The concert will feature an English explanation of the Purim story set to the music of the Grateful Dead, a family costume contest and performance by the Terrapin Family Band. Because Jewish’s Rabbi Dan Ain and Relix Editor-in-Chief Mike Greenhaus will also lead a short all-ages Q & A with the band at the end of the show.

As previously reported, Phil Lesh will join Terrapin Family Band for evening performances at Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday and Monday.
