P-Funk singer Robert “P-Nut” Johnson passed away over the weekend. Bootsy Collins shared the news on his Facebook page.
“We lost another one to that other frequency,” Collins wrote of the late singer. Johnson toured with Bootsy’s Rubber Band and recorded primarily with P-Funk before joining up with the group when Collins stopped touring.
Johnson was also heavily involved with George Clinton’s ever-rotating lineups along with working with Collins outside of his Rubber Band.
No cause of death was made available as of yet.
