Yesterday in their hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Arcade Fire made their first live appearance of the year, participating in the city’s KANPE Kanaval, a yearly event celebrating Haitian culture and benefiting the KANPE Foundation, which helps to fight poverty in Haiti.

The nine-song set featured several of the band’s biggest tunes, and the performance kicked off with the first “Windowsill” since 2008. The opener was followed by the appropriate “Haiti,” and the set also favorites like “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains),” “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out),” “Rebellion (Lies),” “Here Comes the Night Time” and a “Wake Up” closer, along with a cover of “Ke M Pa Sote” by Haiti’s Boukman Eksperyans.

Arcade Fire have a new album in the works that is expected to be released this year, and the band has previously shared a single featuring Mavis Staples and set European tour dates so far in 2017.
