Just months before his death in March 2011, legendary jazz and funk guitarist Melvin Sparks played a show at Burlington, VT’s famed Nectar’s venue, and the recording from the night, which ended up being the last recording from Sparks, will be released as Live At Nectar’s on April 28.

Sparks was joined by keyboardist Beau Sasser of Kung Fu and drummer Bill Carbone of Max Creek for the performance, along with the Grippo Horns, the only show in which Sparks employed a horn section during the last years of his life. The album was also mixed by New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts.
