Many musicians and fans took to social media over the weekend to share their memories and condolences for the loss of Chuck Berry, who passed away at the age of 90 on Saturday.

One of those was Paul McCartney, who honored Berry with a message that read: “He was one of rock and roll’s greatest poets. He will be missed but remembered by everyone who ever loved rock and roll.”

Over the years, the Beatles didn’t shy away from their Chuck Berry influences, often covering his tunes like “Johnny B. Goode,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” “Rock and Roll Music,” “Memphis, Tennessee” and many others. John Lennon was also famously quoted as saying, “If you had to give rock and roll another name, you might call it ‘Chuck Berry.’”
