Last fall, on his 90th birthday, legendary rock and roll pioneer and guitarist Chuck Berry announced he would be releasing his first album in 38 years, Chuck, this year. After Berry’s death over the weekend, the musician’s family has confirmed that the record will still be coming out as planned.

As Rolling Stone notes, Berry’s family posted on Facebook addressing the album release, saying, “While our hearts are very heavy at this time, we know that Chuck had no greater wish than to see this album released to the world, and we know of no better way to celebrate and remember his 90 years of life than through his music.”

The post also says that more information on the album will be forthcoming this week. Upon the record’s announcement, Berry released a statement about the effort, calling it a tribute to his wife, Themetta Berry: “This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy. My darlin’ I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!”

Chuck was recorded by Berry along with a band featuring two of his children, guitarist Charles Berry Jr. and Ingrid Berry on harmonica, along with Berry’s longtime bassist Jimmy Marsala, pianist Robert Lohr and drummer Keith Robinson.
