The upcoming minor Jewish holidays will provide an opportunity for some major reconciliation at Phil Lesh’s San Rafael, CA venue Terrapin Crossroads. In past years the venue has hosted events on Passover, Purim, and as we noted in a previous April first story, Tish’a B’Av and Shmini Atzeret. This year Lag BaOmer and Tu B’Av have been added to the docket and as Ross James tells Jambands.com, “For these special shows the Terrapin Family Band has been rechristened the Terrapin Mishpocha Band…Umm, rechristened might not be the right word there. I’m such a shmendrik.”

In the spirit of Tu B’Av (the Jewish Day of Love), rumor has it that the Core Four members of the Grateful Dead will share a nosh (and perhaps the stage) at these events. Along with Lesh & the Terrapin Mishpocha Band, the shows also will feature Goyim & Company (with John Mayer’s participation, and religious affiliation, uncertain beyond his devotion to the church of the Grateful Dead—Amen, brother).
