Guster have announced they will play a special show at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY, on July 8. Tickets for the performance will go on sale this Saturday, April 8.

The band also shared a recollection of the night Helm passed away in 2012, when Guster were playing in Tarrytown, NY, and played a tribute to the late drummer for The Band with “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.”

That night, not far from where The Band and Bob Dylan recorded together, we launched into a sloppy tribute, singing “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” around a piano, through tears, wrong lyrics, and drool. Levon was more than just a great drummer and singer, he was the embodiment of authenticity as a person and performer, and we like to think that we let his spirit guide us in our own musical journey. That is why having a chance to perform in his legendary barn is the greatest honor!

Below, watch the Last Waltz tribute/spoof that Guster made back in 2006. More information on the Woodstock show can be found here.
