Rich Robinson’s new project The Magpie Salute will release their self-titled debut album on June 9, and the first single from the record, “Omission,” was premiered today over at Rolling Stone.

The lead single is the only Magpie Salute original on the record, which features a couple of Black Crowes covers along with renditions of tunes by Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Faces and more. The band also released a 10” vinyl of two Delaney and Bonnie covers for last weekend’s Record Store Day.

Robinson also spoke with Rolling Stone about the band, which includes his former Crowes bandmates Marc Ford and Sven Pipien. The Magpie Salute also features keyboard work from late Crowes member Eddie Harsch.
