Earlier this week, Allman Brothers Band leader Gregg Allman posted an update on his current health situation, saying that he is at his Savannah home, getting rest on his “doctor’s orders” and that he is “looking forward to seeing everyone again.” Allmans’ former ABB bandmate Warren Haynes has shared some words on his recent visit with the singer, saying that reports of Allman grave condition were overblown, “from [his] perspective.”

Haynes spoke with Detroit’s WCSX (via JamBase) about seeing Allman “a few days ago” in Savannah. “We had not seen him in awhile, so it was good to catch up,” Haynes says. “We just kind of told stories for a few hours and gave him positive thoughts.”

The Gov’t Mule frontman, who will release a new album with that band this summer, also discussed the oft-rumored Allman Brothers reunion, which took a considerable hit with the death of founding drummer Butch Trucks in January. “I didn’t even see it happening again before Butch died,” Haynes tells WCSX. “And especially after that I would pretty much close the door on it.”
