Umphrey’s McGee continued their Florida run last night at the House of Blues in Orlando that featured a few cover bustouts to go along with a creative, innovative set with improv throughout.

Among the highlights, The Beatles’ “Dig a Pony,” played for the first time since June 13, 2014 early on in the first set that also included the rare UM original “Alex’s House” and heavy instrumental “Go to Hell.”

The second set kicked off with an extended “Mantis” segment that also included “Mullet Over,” “Deeper” and “The Linear” before returning to the anthemic finish of the title track to the band’s 2009 record. Out of the following “Tribute to the Spinal Shaft” emerged John Scofield’s “A Go Go,” played for the first time since August 8, 2014. The funk theme continued with the following “Speak Up” before the finale of “Bad Friday.”

With two cover bustouts, the band offered up one more in the encore as Van Halen’s “Runnin’ with the Devil” closed the show, the first rendition of the song since August 31, 2014.

The run continues tonight in Miami Beach.
