Steve Kimock and Friends headlined Sweetwater Music Hall following a screening of the Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip and welcomed out one of the film’s centerpieces, Bob Weir, for a few songs.

Weir sat in on “Bird Song” and Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou” with a band that included longtime collaborators Kimock, Pete Sears and Bobby Vega, as well as ALO’s Dan Lebowitz, John Morgan Kimock and Leslie Mendelson. Eric Krasno also sat in with the ensemble during the night.

Other highlights from the night included takes on “Crazy Fingers,” “Shakedown Street,” “Not Fade Away” and a Leslie Mendelson-led version of Jerry Garcia Band’s “My Sisters and Brothers.”
