Dead & Company will open their summer tour on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This will be the third go-round for the group following tours in the fall of 2015 and the summer of 2016. Still, as Bob Weir suggests in an article on Relix.com, “We’re still learning each other’s moves. The music we play requires a lot of intense listening and a lot of experiencing it together. We’ve learned to play as a band and, the more we play, the better we get at. It is a work in progress, but we’re coming along.”

In the same piece John Mayer reflects on the passing of Jerry Garcia in the context of Dead & Company and reveals, “We all wish it was a different way. We all wish it was the Grateful Dead, but what I think people have figured out is that, in many ways, you can still make it to that destination. You can still make it home.”
