New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts, NMA bassist Pete Shand and Greyboy Allstars keyboardist Robert Walter will back noted funk and R&B drummer Bernard Purdie at a special gig next month. The show will take place at Denver’s Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox on June 3. Purdie, who is known as the world’s most recorded drummer, has worked with the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, B.B. King, Hall & Oates and Steely Dan, among others, during his storied career. Special guests are expected.
