Tedeschi Trucks Band honored Gregg Allman during their Saturday night performance at Jacksonville, FL’s Daily’s Place Amphitheater. The ensemble—who happened to be performing in the Allman Brothers Band’s old hometown the evening of Gregg Allman’s passing—opened their set with the singer/organist’s classic Eat a Peach selection “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.” Later in the night, during TTB’s encore, the group also ran through a cover of “Statesboro Blues,” the song that opens the ABB’s self-titled debut. Tedeschi Trucks Band also played “Statesboro Blues” during their first show after the passing of fellow Allman Brothers Band founder Butch Trucks. Derek Trucks performed with Allman as a preteen and toured as a member of Gregg Allman’s band when he was a teenager. He officially joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1999 and remained with the group until they retired in 2014.

TTB’s Saturday night show also included tributes to Leonard Cohen (“Bird on a Wire”) and Leon Russell (“A Song for You”). The group’s tour will continue in Orlando on Sunday evening.
