Death Cab for Cutie returned to the road with a show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle and honored one of the city’s fallen idols as they covered Soundgarden’s “Fell On Black Days” in honor of the late Chris Cornell.

“What an unbelievable talent he was,” frontman Ben Gibbard said before launching into an acoustic rendition of the song prior to playing the Narrow Stairs track “Talking Bird” live for the first time. Watch the performance above.

Death Cab’s Seattle stop concluded with a collaboration with The Decemberists, as the Portland, OR band joined the Washington rockers for a cover of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land” to close the show.
