Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson will offer up a collection of songs spanning his solo career when he releases Playback on September 22 via Rhino. The collection was announced today, June 20, which marks Wilson’s 75th birthday.

The 18-track anthology, mixing studio work with live recordings, features music from 9 of Wilson’s solo records, starting with his self-titled debut from 1988, along with two previously unreleased tunes: “Run James Run,” specifically written for Playback, and “Some Sweet Day,” written in the early ’90s.

The collection also includes some photos taken from the span of Wilson’s solo career, along with a new shot from the studio earlier this year, plus liner notes from music writer David Wild. See the full setlist below.

Wilson continues on his Pet Sounds 50th anniversary tour next week in Denmark and brings the tour back to North America starting mid-September. See the full schedule here.
