Mike Gordon will release his fifth solo album, OGOGO, on September 15 via Megaplum/ATO Records. For his first solo album since 2014’s Overstep, the Phish bassist worked with Grammy Award-winning engineer Shawn Everett, who is known for his work with The War on Drugs, Alabama Shakes, John Legend, Benjamin Booker, Grizzly Bear, Jessica Hoop, Lucius, Weezer and Julian Casablancas. The album was recorded earlier this year in Boston and Los Angeles with Gordon’s current touring band, which features Scott Murawski (guitar/vocals), Robert Walter (keyboards), John Morgan Kimock (drums) and Craig Myers (percussion). OGOGO‘s first track, “Steps,” was released today. Gordon and his band debuted the original songs “Whirlwind,” “Marissa,” “Up And Down” and “Victim 3D” during their recent show at Quincy, CA’s High Sierra Music Festival.
