Tedeschi Trucks Band returned to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and paid tribute to their ailing bandmate Kofi Burbridge who continues to recover from a heart attack as well as Gregg Allman and Col. Bruce Hampton, both close associates and bandmates who passed away this year.

In addition to the tributes, Tedeschi Trucks Band first collaborated with their Wheels of Soul tourmates The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna as Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady and Justin Guip emerged early on for “The Sky Is Crying” and then Jano Rix, Tinsley Ellis and Oliver & Chris Wood came out for “Have You No Shame” and The Rolling Stones’ “Sweet Virginia.”

To close the set, TTB offered up their first tribute by foraying into the jam of “Whipping Post” before closing the set with the final chorus of the song in a tribute to Allman. Susan Tedeschi then dedicated an emotional reading of “Song For You” to Burbridge, who is not with the band as he recovers from a heart attack. The following “Cry Me a River” in the encore was also dedicated in the memory of Col. Bruce, played on the very same stage that the musician played his final show.
