Joe Russo’s Almost Dead concluded their run at the Capitol Theatre highlighted by a debut of the Benevento/Russo Duo classic “Play Pause Stop,” which made its first appearance at an Almost Dead show to close the first set. The show took place on Marco Benevento’s 40th birthday and a number of audience members held signs to help mark the occasion.

The group also mixed in some other material like Bob Dylan’s “Silvio” which opened the second set prior to “Scarlet Begonias.” The second set was cohesive throughout as the band worked in songs like “Cassidy,” “Fire on the Mountain,” the “Lost Sailor” and “Saint of Circumstance” to precede the “Bertha” closer.

Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London” closed the show, a popular cover in the Grateful Dead canon.
