This year’s Brooklyn Comes Alive two-day event will bring together a trio of New Orleans legends for one of its special one-off collaborations, as George Porter Jr., Henry Butler and Johnny Vidacovich will join forces next month.

With Porter on bass, Butler on piano and Vidacovich on drums, the collective nods to Brooklyn Comes Alive’s goal to capture the Jazz Fest vibe in New York City. The trio joins previously announced Allman Brothers Band and Jamiroquai tributes, along with a moe./Aqueous moe.queous collaboration and a special Eric Krasno & Friends set.

Brooklyn Comes Alive returns to Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall of Williamsburg and The Hall at MP for a two-day affair September 23–24. The 100+ participating artists also include members of The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Lettuce, Primus, Yonder Mountain String Band, Snarky Puppy, The Motet, TAB, RAQ, Railroad Earth, Antibalas, Dopapod, Kung Fu, The New Mastersounds and many more.
