Alone and Together played a special benefit after-party at Jane Pickens Theater in Newport, RI, following Newport Folk Festival, and the all-star collective ended up welcoming several special guests to the stage, including My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James and Jerry Garcia’s iconic Wolf guitar.

Alone and Together features Kevin Morby, Sam Cohen, Joe Russo, Josh Kaufman and Fruit Bats’ Eric D. Johnson and, as JamBase reports, James joined the group for Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)” and the Grateful Dead’s “Candyman” (a song James performed for the Day of the Dead tribute album), which featured Cohen playing Wolf.

The night also included other guests, including James’ Jacket bandmates Carl Broemel and Patrick Hallahan and singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins. Watch video of many of the show’s guests collaborating on John Lennon’s “Give Peace A Chance” above and Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” below.
