Phil Lesh led a group of Friends in a special set of songs geared toward his younger fans this past weekend for an event called Stories & Songs at his Terrapin Crossroads venue in San Rafael, CA.

After a portion of story-reading for the gathered children, Lesh and others took the stage for a set of songs that included a cover of The White Stripes’ “We’re Going to be Friends,” and Jesse Fuller’s “Monkey and the Engineer,” which was covered by Lesh and the Grateful Dead, plus “Home on the Range,” “Froggy Went A’Courtin’” and more, ending with a Lesh-led rendition of “Ripple.”

Lesh returns to the Terrapin Crossroads backyard later today for “Songs to Phil the Air” with Ross James, Steve Pile and Scott Guberman.
