Gov’t Mule concluded their collaboration-filled tour with special guests Galactic last night, wrapping up the run at the SumTur Amphitheater in Papillon, NE, and the night was highlighted by several sit ins from members of the opening band.

The guest spots started in the latter half of the set, when Galactic guitarist Jeff Raines and trumpeter Shamarr Allen came out for “Sco-Mule” before Erica Falls, Ben Ellman and Rich Vogel joined the collaboration for “Take Me to the River.” A few songs later, Ellman returned for a run of “Lay Your Burden Down” with “Smokestack Lightening” in the middle, and the set was closed out with Ellman and Allen helping out on “Soulshine.” The night, and the two band’s co-tour, then came to a close with an encore cover of Allen Toussaint’s “Get Out of My Life, Woman” featuring Ellman, Allen, Vogel, Raines, Falls, Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio.

See the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section. Gov’t Mule play Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre tonight with Marcus King Band and Yonder Mountain String Band, while Galactic play Fortune Fest in Columbia, MO.
