On August 25, Railroad Earth co-headlined the Summer’s End Fest in Mt. Pocono, PA with Greensky Bluegrass. It was an evening filled with bluegrass jams of all stripes but the biggest surprise was a “Leap Year”> “Head” joint encore that featured members of both bands, with a rotating trio of bass players, including former Railroad Earth bassist Johnny Grubb. Railroad Earth also played a mid-set version of “Lovin’ You” to honor Grubb’s 11th wedding anniversary. In addition, Matt Slocum filled in on keyboards in place of Andy Goessling who is on medical leave.

Greensky Bluegrass’ summer/fall tour continues September 8 in Crystal Bay, NV and continues through a New Year’s run in Chicago. Railroad Earth will play dates through the fall, ending their tour with a New Year’s show at the Paramount Theater in Boulder, CO.
