This past weekend, the 10th annual Blues, Views & BBQ Festival returned to Westport, CT, with a lineup featuring the likes of Anders Osborne, who has played the past six iterations of the gathering, plus Galactic, Deep Banana Blackout, The New Orleans Suspects, Taz & Friends and more.

Saturday featured a special collaboration between New Orleans Suspects and Little Feat’s Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett, as both groups came together for one long set despite their separate billings, playing both NOS and Little Feat originals throughout, including a “Dixie Chicken” that featured the Bonerama horns. Bonerama then played their own set before Galactic headlined the night with a set that featured a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone,” an early birthday celebration with vocalist Erica Falls and sit ins from New Orleans Suspects’ “Mean” Willie Green, who joined Stanton Moore behind the drum kits, and the Bonerama horns once again.

Sunday brought together Taz & Friends, which featured young guitar phenom Brandon “Taz” Niederauer leading a band that included Trey Anastasio Band horn mates Natalie Cressman and James Casey, vocalist Elise Testone and keyboardist Mark Rechler. Guitarist Eric McFadden also joined the fray for a cover of the Allman Brothers Band classic “Whipping Post.” Anders Osborne’s ensuing set featured a sit in from Deep Banana Blackout and Kung Fu saxophonist Rob Somerville, who later closed out the set with DBB for a home state headlining set that included a guest-heavy “Red Hot Mama” with Taz, Testone and Rechler joining the band on stage.
