Greensky Bluegrass are in the midst of a western swing, and the band swung by the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA, over the weekend for a show that featured another collaboration with tour mates Fruition.

Although Greensky’s two sets of music didn’t feature any of their Fruition friends, the headliners did nod to the opening act with a couple references during their performance, including a tease of Fruition’s “Labor of Love” during a jam on “Just to Lie.” The two bands then joined forces with most of Fruition – Kellen Asebroek, Mimi Naja, Jay Cobb Anderson, Tyler Thompson – emerging with Greensky for a two-song encore of “Wings for Wheels” and a raucous run-through of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Watch a video of their collaboration below.

The sit in came after last week’s Greensky’s collaborative encore in Phoenix, AZ, when the band welcomed out Hot Buttered Rum’s Erik Yates, Zebulon Bowles and Nat Keefe. Greensky and Fruition continue their tour tonight at the Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff, AZ.
