Gov’t Mule’s stop at the House of Blues in Houston, TX last night once again included guest appearances from Gordie Johnson and Rey Arteaga, who have helped the band throughout their Texas run.

In addition, the band also mixed in a tribute to the late Tom Petty with a cover of his “Breakdown” which they have played a number of times over the years.

Johnson and Arteaga joined the band mostly on covers, including a second set “Smokestakc Lightning” and “How Many More Years” as well as Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon.” Johnson and Arteaga also helped Mule on first set closers “Take Me to the River” and “32/30 Blues.”
