The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed its nominees for induction in next year’s ceremony. New Orleans funk godfathers The Meters, who were on the ballot in 1997, 2013 and 2014 have another opportunity, along with new nominees such as iconic UK rockers Radiohead and activist rap-metal outfit Rage Against the Machine.

Also included in the 2018 list are Nina Simone, Bon Jovi, The Zombies, Dire Straits, Depeche Mode, Judas Priest, The Cars, LL Cool J, J. Geils Band, Moody Blues, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Link Wray, Kate Bush, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, MC5 and Eurythmics. Artists are eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first commercial recording, in this case no later than 1992.

Inductees will be chosen by a combination of ballots sent to over 900 musicians, historians and music industry members around the world and fan voting, which begins today, October 5, and lasts through December 5. The top five fan-selected artists will have their fan votes tallied along with the ballot submissions. Fans can cast their votes here.

The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be announced this December, and the official induction ceremony will be held at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium on April 14, 2018. HBO will again broadcast the event, with details to be announced at a later date.
