New York-based concert promoters CEG Presents have confirmed a series of late-night shows timed with Phish’s return to Madison Square Garden. The after shows will take place at a variety of venues around Manhattan.

On December 28, the ChillFam Allstars will offer “A Tribute to Michael Jackson” featuring members of Trey Anastasio Band, Turkuaz, Pink Talking Fish and scene staples at Highline Ballroom while Matisyahu will continue his holiday run with a show at Irving Plaza and The Marcus King Band will headline Gramercy Theatre.

On December 29, the popular Burlington, VT-bred Grateful Dead tribute act Dead Sessions will play their annual New Year’s Eve week after show at the Cutting Room and on December 30 the venue will host “A Family Affair: The Music of Sly & The Family Stone” at the same venue. The Sly Stone tribute will feature a number of familiar faces, including Adam Chase (James Brown Dance Party), Matthew Chase (Jazz Is Phsh), Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band), Jeff Cressman (Santana, Trey Anastasio Band, Sheila E., Stevie Wonder), Sandy Cressman (Homenagem Brasileira, Orquesta Candela), Chris Bullock (Snarky Puppy),
Maurice “Mobetta” Brown (Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Roots),
Felix Pastorius (The Mu’tet) and Jamar Woods (The Fritz). (Jazz is Phsh will take the stage at the Cutting Room at 4pm the same day.)

Finally, on New Year’s Eve proper, the James Brown Dance Party will celebrate the Godfather of Soul at the Cutting Room. Led by The Chase Brothers, the tribute will also return appearances by Woods and Brown as well include performances by Fred Thomas (James Brown, The JBs), Mousey Thompson (James Brown), Amy Christian (James Brown), Jay Rodriguez (Prince) and Mark Williams (Chuck Brown, Kool & The Gang).
