Joe Russo’s Almost Dead wrapped up a six-night run at the Brooklyn Bowl with a show that relied on a number of Grateful Dead favorites but was also highlighted by other covers.

The first set stuck to the core Grateful Dead material including “Let It Grow,” “The Wheel” and the closing pairing of “Lost Sailor” and “Saint of Circumstance” while the second set got started with a more familiar rendition of “Shakedown Street” before the group dug into the first “Hard to Handle” since March 25, 2016.

The ensemble dabbled in “Unbroken Chain” during the “Hard to Handle” jam before foraying into “China Cat Sunflower” and “St. Stephen.” Almost Dead then delivered the first rendition of The Beatles’ “Hey Bulldog” since July 2, 2016 before closing the set with “Viola Lee Blues.” After a thank you from venue owner Peter Shapiro, the band returned for a “One More Saturday Night” closer.
