Ominous Seapods will reunite in early 2018 with their original lineup of Max Verna, Dana Monteith, Tom Pirozzi, Brian Mangini and Ted Marotta.

Known for their conceptual jamming and unique brand of onstage humor, Ominous Seapods grew a loyal fanbase around Upstate, NY in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s before releasing four studio albums and a live disc. At their peak, the band played hundreds of shows a year, including appearances at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado and the Wetlands Preserve in New York City. They officially split in 2001, but have played a number of reunion shows since with Todd Pasternack in place of Verna.

The band’s most recent show was on Dec. 17, 2011 in Albany, NY, where they jammed with surprise guests like moe. drummer Vinnie Amico.

The Ominous Seapods reunion kicks off at the Cohoes Music Hall on January 12th and 13th and will conclude at the Brooklyn Bowl on January 14th with The Zen Tricksters—another band that has been on semi-hiatus in recent years—and Kenny Brooks of Ratdog. Tickets for the first two shows are available on Ticketmaster, and you can find tickets for the Brooklyn Bowl show here
