Stone Temple Pilots made their return to the stage last night during an intimate show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles where they welcomed their new lead singer Jeff Gutt.

Gutt, a veteran of the Detroit music scene, has spent the last year writing with the founding members of the band. Last night’s show included the debut of a new single “Meadow” which is now available to stream across all streaming service and will precede a new album due out in spring 2018.

The new chapter for the band begins after the passing of original singer Scott Weiland, who passed away in December 2015.

On replacing Weiland, Gutt said, “No one will ever fill Scott’s shoes and I’m not trying to – he’s a legend. But these songs deserve to be performed and people want to hear them. I’m just honored that the guys chose me to help them continue to build this band’s legacy.”
