The 46th annual RockyGrass festival comes to Lyons, CO, next summer, and the event’s initial lineup has been revealed, featuring a number of bluegrass-inspired acts including a couple special reunions in Old & In the Way and David Grisman’s classic “Hot Dawg” lineup.

The surviving original members of Old & In the Way, Grisman and Peter Rowan, will team up with Sam Bush, Keith Little and Grisman’s son and collaborator Samson for the festival. The original lineup featured late musicians Jerry Garcia, Vassar Clements and John Kahn. RockyGrass will also present a reunion of Grisman’s 1978 quintet lineup featuring Darol Anger, Mike Marshall, Todd Philips and special guest Wyatt Rice.

Next year’s festival will also feature a 40th anniversary finale performance from Hot Rize, the event’s host band in the 1980s, along with the Sam Bush Bluegrass Band, Steep Canyon Rangers, Jeff Austin Band, a collaboration of female International Bluegrass Music Association instrumentalist of the year winners featuring Alison Brown, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull, Missy Raines and Molly Tuttle and more. See the full preliminary lineup below.

RockyGrass 2018 will take place July 27–29 at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons, CO. Ticketing information can be found here.
