A former lighting tech and longtime friend of Umphrey’s McGee, Wyllys is a vinyl-only DJ known for his fun-filled disco dance parties.

On January 20th, following one of three UM shows at the Beacon Theatre, Wyllys will be joined by The Will To Live, a special all-star live band featuring Rob Compa on guitar (Dopapod) and Mike “Maz” Maher on trumpet (Snarky Puppy), as well as former Trey Anastasio Band member Peter Apfelbaum on percussion. Rounding out the quintet will be guitarist Chris Cartelli (Newton Crosby) and keyboardist Zac Lasher (U-Melt).

The after-party will kick off at The Cutting Room in New York City following the second night of UM’s 20th anniversary run at the Beacon. And since the band will be a quick subway ride away, there is the potential for sit-ins of all kinds (At Summer Camp 2012, Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Brendan Bayliss joined Wyllys onstage to cover Escort’s “Cocaine Blues.”)
