Billed as “Remembering Mikey,” Sam Holt will pay tribute to his fallen friend Mikey Houser tonight in Atlanta, following Widespread Panic’s sold-out show at The Fox Theatre.

During Widespread Panic’s rise, Holt was hired as Houser’s guitar tech, and later, following the guitarist’s 2002 passing, Holt stepped in as a touring guitarist for the Athens, Ga. jamband during their 2006 Summer Tour.

Holt is known for his no pick, all thumb playing style, and his eponymous band released their debut album, Southern Angels in 2012. The LP features guest appearances by Widespread Panic’s John Bell as well as Danny Hutchens of Bloodkin.
