My Morning Jacket kicked off a three-night New Year’s Eve run at Broomfield, CO’s 1st Bank Center last night, a span of shows that will mark the band’s final performances before a planned hiatus from U.S. touring in 2018, and MMJ brought out several tunes that hadn’t been played in over two years.

The evening opened up with the title track from the band’s 2001 album At Dawn, and the set would return to that album multiple times, including with the next two songs, “Lowdown” and “X-Mas Curtain,” along with the first “Hopefully” since November 2015. Also played for the first time since that same month last night were “Aluminum Park,” “Knot Comes Loose” and the throwback “Evelyn Is Not Real” from the band’s 1999 debut, The Tennessee Fire.

Along with some live favorites like “I Will Sing you Songs” and “What a Wonderful Man,” MMJ offered one of guitarist Carl Broemel’s solo tunes, “Carried Away,” along with a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here with You,” plus a three-song encore that featured David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.”
