Playing three shows in their “home away from home,” Umphrey’s McGee made waves in Colorado last night, debuting a new song from their upcoming album, It’s Not Us.

The track, entitled “Half Delayed,” emerged on the tail end of set one at the Fillmore Auditorium. Earlier, the band opened with “Miss Tinkles Overture” and even played around with Michael Jackson teases in “Day Nurse.” Set one closed with another It’s Not Us track, “Speak Up,” which featured additional instrumentation by Dave Matthews Band/Flecktones saxophonist Jeff Coffin.

“Hurt Bird Bath” and “The Triple Wide” kicked off set two, but one of the more interesting musical moments came later when the band debuted the Joe Jackson cover “Steppin’ Out.” Following a set closing “Dump City,” complete with Auld Lang Syne teases, the band encored with the not-often-heard “Eminence Front” (last played 3/10/2016) and closed out the night by completing a version of “JaJunk” that they started the night before.

Umphrey’s McGee will play The Fillmore again tonight.
