This past Saturday, legendary singer-songwriter Willie Nelson was forced to leave the stage during a concert at Harrah’s Resort near San Diego, CA, and the musician has canceled a number of upcoming tour dates due to illness, Classic Country Music reports.

Nelson was playing a show billed as Willie Nelson & Family with a band that included his sons Lukas and Micah Nelson. As can be seen in the fan-shot video below, the elder Nelson was in the middle of singing “Whiskey River” when he abruptly stopped, apologized to the audience and left the stage. Lukas finished the tune on lead vocals, as his father did not return.

Nelson’s concerts this week in Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV have all been canceled. Nelson’s publicist addressed the situation to the San Diego Union Tribune, saying that the musician is dealing with “a bad cold or flu” and will take some time off the road to recover. Nelson canceled some dates in a similar fashion last February.
